the web! We are a full service yacht charter company located at the end of
US 1 in Key West, Florida. Our goal is to provide your custom tropical fun
filled, sailing, diving and fishing vacations in the comfort of the continental US. Cruise
with us on an exciting charter boat vacation from beautiful Key West, FL.
Lauderdale or Ft. Meyers, Florida. Take a day sail with the family, a
weekend exploring some local color, or an entire week enjoying the beautiful
waters of the Florida Keys. We offer a wide variety of bareboat or
captained charters and would be happy to customize any charter vacation to suit
your needs.
When you cruise with us you'll receive a warm and friendly welcome, and a
thorough, hands-on introduction to your boat. If you choose, we will provide you
with a licensed professional captain, or if you want to learn, you can combine a
cruising vacation with one our sailing certification courses - a great family
getaway!
If you are interested in diving, we have a certified dive instructor available to
assist you. We also have dive masters that act as underwater guides for a
variety of Day Excursions including snorkel trips
and
lobster / spear fishing trips.
The Ship that now carries the name, Gen. Hoyt S. Vandenberg, has a long and unique history spanning two generations in service to her country. The ex-USAFS Gen. Hoyt S. Vandenberg was first commissioned as the troop transport USNS Gen. Harry Taylor. The ship saw service in WWII, post-war immigration, the Hungarian Revolution, and the Cold War. After decommissioning, it even starred in a popular motion picture.
As an artificial reef, the ship will not only be a recreational resource for divers and fishermen, but will serve as an underwater classroom for the Florida Keys Community College, and be a platform for ground-breaking research in reef monitoring as mandated by the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary Management Plan.
