ASA Sailing School
Southernmost Sailing is an ASA teaching facility. The following is a list of the ASA course curriculums we offer.  If you are interested in multi-course packages, we can customize the curriculum to meet your needs.  We charge for our courses a little different than most. ASA certification is $200 dollars per day plus course materials and the cost of the charter boat.  We use this ala-carte system to allow you the flexibility to create the package you desire.  Most of our students are either one or two couples, with one, some or all participating.

LEVEL 101- BASIC KEELBOAT SAILING
Classroom Time: 3 Hours
On the water training: 2 Days 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM - overnight stays available on request
Description: Basic sailboat terminology, rules of the road, on the water safety, sail handling skills, knot tying, and VHF radio procedures.
Course materials: ASA Sailing Fundamentals textbook, logbook and certification fee.

LEVEL 103 - BASIC COASTAL CRUISING
Classroom Time: 4 Hours
On the water training: 2 Days 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM - overnight stays available on request
Prerequisites: Basic Keelboat Sailing Certification
Description: Practice Keelboat Sailing Skills, cover course plotting, USCG requirements, interpreting marine weather forecast, anchoring techniques, and docking under power.
Course materials: ASA test and certification fee.

LEVEL 104 - BAREBOAT CHARTER CERTIFICATION
Classroom Time: 4 Hours
On the water training: 2 Days 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM - overnight stays available on request
Prerequisites: Basic keelboat Sailing and Basic Coastal Cruising Certifications.
Descriptions: This level covers boat systems, maintenance procedures, GPS operation, navigation, etiquette, trip planning, and docking.
Course Materials: Cruising Fundamentals text book, ASA test and certification fee.

LEVEL 105 - COASTAL NAVIGATION
Classroom Time: 4 to 6 Hours
On the water training: 2 Days 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM - overnight stays available on request
Prerequisites: Basic keelboat Sailing and Basic Coastal Cruising Certifications.
Descriptions: This level covers Dead Reckoning, Set and Drift, and standard Coastal Navigation
